But this time, some of the rumors are true. A myriad of crises are happening at the same time, each one making things difficult for the heart. There is cancer and chemotherapy. An infection has settled in the lungs and there are drugs working to reverse it. The kidneys are tired and want to stop working altogether.

In the face of these failures, is there really any hope of recovery? The Leader’s body is like a car on an icy road where each skid toward the ditch threatens to be answered by the yanking of the steering wheel that may send the car into the traffic from the oncoming lane. Each doctor has a hand on the wheel and while each wishes to stay on the road, it is late and getting darker and darker. Barring a miracle or a curse, it is only a matter of time.
